Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Guwahati to Shillong

Meet your driver in Guwahati and travel towards Shillong. Stop at Umiam Lake on the way to enjoy the views. After arrival, check in to your hotel. If time permits, explore Police Bazaar in the evening. Overnight in Shillong.

Day 2: Shillong to Cherrapunjee

After breakfast, travel towards Cherrapunjee, also known as Sohra. Depending on weather, visibility and the time available, visit Shillong Peak, Elephant Falls and Mawkdok Dympep Valley Viewpoint. Continue to selected Sohra attractions such as Dainthlen Falls, Wei Sawdong Falls and Mawsmai Cave. Overnight in Cherrapunjee.

Day 3: Nongriat Double-Decker Living Root Bridge trek

Begin early and drive to the Tyrna area, where the trek towards Nongriat starts. Descend to the Double-Decker Living Root Bridge with a local guide if arranged. The return requires a substantial uphill climb. Rainbow Falls is a longer optional extension for travellers with enough time and fitness. Return to Cherrapunjee for the night.

Day 4: Cherrapunjee sightseeing and drive to Guwahati

After breakfast, explore a selection of Cherrapunjee attractions, such as Seven Sisters Falls, Eco Park, Nohkalikai Falls, Arwah Cave, Wah Kaba Falls and the Garden of Caves. The complete list may not fit before the onward drive; choose stops according to opening hours and road conditions. Travel to Guwahati and stay overnight.

Day 5: Guwahati sightseeing and airport drop

After breakfast, enjoy Guwahati sightseeing if your flight schedule permits. Transfer to Guwahati Airport for your onward journey.
