Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Guwahati
Arrive in Guwahati and transfer to the hotel. Depending on your arrival time, visit Maa Kamakhya Temple and Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra. Additional sightseeing can be planned if time permits. Overnight in Guwahati.
Day 2: Guwahati to Shillong
After breakfast, drive to Shillong. Enjoy the changing scenery on the way and stop at Umiam Lake if time permits. Check in to your hotel and spend the evening at leisure. Overnight in Shillong.
Day 3: Shillong, Laitlum Canyon and Cherrapunjee
Explore Shillong and visit Laitlum Canyon, subject to weather and visibility. Continue to Cherrapunjee, also known as Sohra, and check in to your hotel. Overnight in Cherrapunjee.
Day 4: Cherrapunjee sightseeing
Spend the day exploring Cherrapunjee’s waterfalls, viewpoints and caves. The final selection of stops will depend on opening hours, weather, accessibility and your preferred pace. Overnight in Cherrapunjee.
Day 5: Cherrapunjee, Mawlynnong and Dawki to Shillong
Travel via Mawlynnong towards Dawki. Enjoy the planned Dawki River boating experience if local operations and river conditions permit. Return to Shillong for the night. This is a full sightseeing and driving day, so an early departure is recommended.
Day 6: Shillong to Kaziranga
After breakfast, drive to Kaziranga National Park. Check in to your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure. Overnight in Kaziranga.
Day 7: Kaziranga safaris and return to Guwahati
Enjoy the planned elephant and jeep safari experiences, subject to confirmed bookings and park operations. After the activities, travel back to Guwahati and check in for your final night. An early start may be required.
Day 8: Guwahati airport departure
After breakfast, transfer to Guwahati Airport for your onward journey. The tour concludes with memories of Assam and Meghalaya.
